BeautifulKeyston Brothers Saddle!! Hand-Made in San Francisco! This saddle was made before they bought Heister. I saw a similar one in a 1939 Keyston catalog - would estimate this to be made around 1935-1945 - no later. All iron rigging. Marked Keyston, San Francisco in aoval on seat. Also marked Keyston in a diamond and 132 on billet. Underneath in gullet it is marked 166.

Lovely Chocolate color. Tree is sound. This saddle was made before Blevin Buckles - To adjust stirrups, you tie with leather laces. Laces included but I would replace with new laces if you were going to use. Leather is in quite good shape for it\'s age - about 75 years old! Some crazing on fenders and skirts but still usable and no cracks through, just crazing. Riggingis in good shape - no issues at all. Cinch strap is in good shape - Off billet is included but I would buy a new one if you were going to use it. 13\" Hardseat. Has border tooling throughout saddle. I cannot see anywhere on this saddle where anything has been replaced or repaired besides stirrup lacing. Stitching is all intact except for some around back skirts (shown in pics) - does not impact usability of saddle. Original real wool fleece underneath is quite worn but some still there. Wooden stirrups - they seem to match but one has metal reinforcement on outside of stirrup and the other does not. Not sure if one was reinforced or the other had the metal taken off. But very old and age appropriate stirrups. All Original leather Rosettes all around - none missing. All Original leather ties are of varying lengths - some long and some short, having been broken off over time. This saddle is well-made!! While this saddlehas a wonderful vintage look, it is fully usable ! Own a piece of Cowboy History!! It\'s a show piece!

Also Includes a nice largereversible woven wool pad. Soft rose color.

Plus a very old, vintage Vaquero style hand woven leather headstall - no hardware on this one - all leather! Headstall ends where you attach the bit to are the only non-woven leather on it - these would have to be replaced if you wanted to use (easy to do with scrap of new leather and Chicago screws) it looks like they were cut to get the bit off a long time ago.
