All Hummel figurines were produced at the original factory in Rödental, Germany, the only authorized producer of M.I. Hummel figurines in the world. Each figurine meets with the time-honored traditions and quality established by Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel. No detail has been overlooked. The famed M.I. Hummel incised signature also appears on each figurine as your assurance of authenticity.

First designed by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1939 and introduced around 1940, this figurine once was known as \"The Boss\" and \"Der Chef\". This figurine is the same one used in the perpetual calendar bearing the same name, Hum-788/A.

When first released, it had gray pants and coat and a pink vest. This changed to green pants, brown coat, and pink vest, and then finally to the brown coat and pants with white vest used on the pieces from sometime in the Stylized Bee (TMK-3) period to the present. The variation in shortest supply is the green pants version.

This piece has a current retail or book value of $130 to $180. It is also the replacement value for insurance purposes.

This piece is in mint condition. I have examined this piece carefully and these 80-year old eyes could not see any problems.
