M1 carbine WWII Winchester original stock m2 walnut US World War II rifle part:
$80.00

This is an original WWII M1 carbine stock made by Winchester as indicated by the W in the sling well. Made in New Haven, CT by Winchester Repeating Arms. The stock is very solid with the characteristic Winchester flat bottom of the front of the stock and the extra thick pistol grip. It seems that somebody put a light coat of some kind of varnish on the stock making it a little shiny as seen in the pictures. This can be taken off with Zip-strip and re-stained with walnut stain or simply coated Boiled Linseed Oil. There is a boxed P on the bottom of the pistol grip as well as on the front of the pistol grip. The stock is low wood, but appears to have been high wood originally. There is a V looking mark on the inside of the stock that I have seen before on another W marked stock, but I don\'t know what it means. There are no cracks or major dings besides inside the magazine well area. There is a significant piece of wood missing, but would most likely not be that noticeable once a carbine is dropped in, except for the semi circular chunk. This should be easily filled in. Included with the stock is the recoil plate screw escutcheon, barrel band retainer, and what appears to be an Underwood butt plate. Besides the missing chunk this is a great, solid WWII Winchester stock to make your Winchester m1 carbine correct!
