A mesmerizing PAIR of 2 EGYPTIAN REVIVAL Winged \"SPHINX\" Lady
CANDLEHOLDERS,
Handcrafted and from from Maitland-Smith, Ltd.I honestly cannot find any real damages to either enchanting piece,
For instance, in the photos, it almost looks as though the candle ports are slightly off-keel,
Yet to the eye, they look quite straight, just on an ancient sphinx!
~I do note small differences to attest to not only their hand poured, and hand finished character,
but also, tiny details to help along their \"Ancient\" appeal!
~Note the \"foot wear\" to the steps ascending up the plinth from the front, for instance..
~And what would appear to be a teensy air pocket where the molted bronze did not quite fill, super teensy and on a candle port rim, hard to see in photos because it is bronze, regardless!
~So, very minute hints here and there at their painstakingly crafted character,
~just as one would hope for!!
Some tiny irregularities from casting the bronze, complete the ancient look,
by way of handcrafted charm like no other!WEIGHT:
Their Handcrafted weights vary too, though matching in size!
