This Maryland State Police Eurocopter Dauphin Medevac helicopter model was extremely popular when made several years ago and sold out almost immediately.I was the project manager for the company that had these made and attempted to have more produced. Unfortunately, the factory that made them refused to do another run citing the high scrape rate due to the complexitiesof printing the intricate Maryland Flag on the tail boom. Therefore no more beyond the original 3000 were ever made.
This is a unique model in several ways. Not only is it the actual one of one prototype but it has two other unique features that sets it apart from the production versions. This is the prototype box created for final approval before the actual boxes were printed. The color images were printed on paper and attached to the box which can be seen on all the edges. Secondly, I\'d specified TROOPER 1 BALTIMORE be printed on the window mostly because most of my 9 years in the Aviation Division were spent there. However, I reconsidered this because it would have slighted the other 7 sections so I had it deleted from the production versions making this the only one to ever be so produced.It\'s a little dusty but otherwise complete, in perfect condition and includes the stand.
The price I have on it is what I was offered several times before when it sat in my office. Given the nature of if I sell it for less someone will only buy it to flip. So if sold, whoever gets it will be a serious collector and appreciate it.
