VERY RARE MATCHED PAIR of ANTIQUECHODOR TURKOMAN CAMEL or HORSE KNEE TRAPPINGS \"Diah Disluk\" (in the trade spelled: dizlyk, dyzlik, dezlik, or dyslyk),Central Asian tribal, Turkmenistan, 19th century, and each weaving coming in excellent original condition for the specialistcollector of rare and esoteric antique tribal or Turkomen weavings. The approximate size of each piece, not including the tassel additions,is:6\" x 11\" (15 x 28cm).Dizlikswere made as decorations for the knees of camels and horses and were used during ceremonies, processions, and migrations. This extremely rare pair of antique Chodor examples are asymmetrically knotted open to theright on naturalivory wool warps and natural ivory cotton wefts with natural dyes derived from plant sources.Each pieceretains most ofthe original multi-colored tassel embellishments.Both weavingsshow basicallyfull pile condition with only a few old moth old pecks thatdo not detract from the eye. These mates exhibit NO rips, holes, tears, repairs, stains, or color run. They are clean and collection ready.Collected decades ago in the Orient. Fresh to the market.
