This Vintage Men’s Sterling Silver Watch Tips withStainless Steel band has been in storage for more than 32 years, at least. Decorated with Morenci Turquoise. Tips measure 1-1/8\" at widest taperingdown to 3/4\". Band with tips measures 5-1/2\" overall with 25.5 gramsof weight.
Morenci Turquoise is mined in southwestern Arizona, is oftenassociated with an unusual black matrix of irregular iron pyrite, which looksmetallic when polished. Although they are rare, stones with unusual birds-eyepatterns, red matrix and an occasional layer of silver have also been found.Morenci is well known; it was one of the first types of American turquoise tofind its way to the market and is always difficult to obtain because the minewas depleted so long ago.
It is believed that thebest Morenci ever produced was discovered in the late 1960\'s to early 70\'s.During this time period, the mine produced a high, electric blue variety withiron pyrite inclusions. Since Morenciis no longer being mined, and because of its striking color and unusual matrixcombinations, high grade natural Morenci is a valuable, highly collectiblemineral.
Tested and examined tips forpurity and is sterling silver. Stretch band is stainless steel. In addition, there are no test marks or cosmeticdamage on the piece.
