MENS Vtg 1870s Victorian Hand Sewn Post CIVIL WAR FROCK Coat Jacket DEADWOOD Dating to Post Civil War Victorian 1870s men’s antique frock coat. Black wool and silk hand sewn coat (sometimes the hand sewing is so good it looks machine stitched, but I don’t think it is). Main outer fabric is a felted wool, I think - it feels a bit like the vintage beaver hats. The lining is a green iridescent silk or wool blend, with the sleeves being lined in a printed cotton. Padded chest. Double-breasted buttons up front (several are missing). Tails with buttons in the back.
MEASUREMENTS:
Measures like a modern-day mens Extra Small to Small, but please go by measurements for best fit. Measurements taken with garment laid flat and doubled where appropriate:
Chest 40”Length 36”, measured from nape of neckShoulders 17”Sleeves 25”
Fair condition: several moth holes; I count 3 buttons missing in front, and most are different from the original (the four rear buttons appear original as well as two in front); the lining has separated from the outer layer at the bottom in some places; a few seam splits including a split/small hole at the shoulder. I think this is quite wearable though and in pretty good shape considering the age.Please note that this coat is an outer coat and weighs quite a bit. If overestimates shipping cost, I will refund any extra. I am not trying to make money off shipping!
