(A P P R O X . 13\" B Y 36\")Counterweight lamps were one of the techniques that appeared in
the mid century period in extremely high end lighting. Pierre Guariche,
a French designer, made an impression with his designs of the late forties.
By the fifties, the Italians, Norweigians and Germans
were also producing these dramatic, extremely stylish designs. This is a wonderful Italian example from Arredoluce which dates to around 1955.
It features an eye-catching red, black and gold color scheme,
which is iconic, and silently screams Italian mid century style!
An extremely prestigious lamp when it was made and now?
Now it is a surviving marvelous treasure for a very special person! This lamp is magnificent and articulates both at the neck/arm and the
brass shade, permitting light to be placed up high or down low!
A perforated metal diffuser clips on to the bulb to prevent glare.Very nice condition! Some minor wear, tarnish and dings to the shade, neck and base.
Single socket turns on by a push button switch on the base.This lamp is perfect for your penthouse, case study home or mid century palace! A S U P E R B M I D C E N T U R Y L A M P F O R Y O U R E N J O Y M E N T text, images and descriptions Copyright GALLERY 20TH. 2015. All Rights Reserved.
