If you are new to collecting:Beswick back stamps are the oldest,followed by RoyalAlbert & Royal Doulton.Beswick stampeditems are the most sought after fetching more at sale.All Figurines were produced from1955 to 2002 or so. Most of thefigurines you seeare not asold as you may think.If it says copyright 1948 itdoesn\'t mean it was madein 1948! That\'s merely when the character wasprotected by copyright...If it says Royal Doulton OR Royal Albertit is probably 10-20 years old roughly.If it says Beswick on the bottom stamp it isprobably 30-50 + years old.BP1 IS THE EARLIEST , BP2, BP3,BP4 AND SO ON.Then it gets more complicated like BP-1a BP-1b, BP-2a , BP-2betc...Some folks referto these figurines as Pottery or Porcelain .Figurines with \"CRAZING\" means there are defects in the protective glazecoating that stems from age and often bad storage conditions.\"CRAZING\" is tiny \"SPIDER WEB\" or \"CRACKLE\" in the this glaze coat.Collector\'s tend to shy away from this defect and therefore this often attimes, causes lower start offers. Sometimes CRAZING is easier found if thefigure is held under a bright light.I use a flashlight on each of my itemsand point out any defect that may be present.
