This has got to be one of rarest Schlitz Malt Liquor “Bull” collectibles ever presented for sale. It is truly a stunning piece of breweriana art.We got this from a friend who used to work for a local beer distributorship here in Columbus, Ohio. It was given to him as a gift for being a loyal employee. He remembered it as being presented to him at the same time that Schlitz Malt Liquor was introduced in 1965. He told us he believed it was a prototype for a back-bar piece or for some sort of award presentation. But to his (and our) knowledge it was never put into production. It has been stored safely in a box since that time, which could have been any time between the beer’s introduction in 1965 through the 1970s, when he retired.The bull’s rear legs are attached to a piece of finished solid oak. There seem to be some dowels inserted into the wood. Not sure what that was all about. Perhaps they were meant to be punched out and a logo plaque inserted. It’s hard to say…The bull itself is made of a hard resin and the base is a thick piece of oak, stained a golden color. The wood base measures 1.25” high x 12” wide x 5.5” deep. The bull itself measures 10” long (from the front leg which is the furthest forward to the rear legs) x 6” wide (from the bull’s right front leg to the tip of his left horn) There are no breaks or chips of any kind.
