For sale is one USED MK2 / 982443 - C rare vintage U.S. Navy military emptyammunition steel shell box. Actually, it may have contained detonating fuzes, as stated in the writing on the top lid, or 12 5\" rocket fuzes, or be an ammunition component box, but I\'m going to let you figure out what the writing says / means and what it actually held. It DOES actually have the U. S. Navy anchor symbol on it in at least 3 places. Also, CRANE INC12 - 53, so perhaps it was made in December 1953? It is a very strong box, with 4 clamps that secure the top lid quite firmly. All of these clamps work great, the inside lid rubber like material is still very pliable and has no cracks at all. The handles on each end swing freely as they should. There are some cosmetic flaws including scrapes, scratches, small dents, paint loss and surface rust in some areas. Also, some debirs, dirt, other paint or other material is stuck to areas of the inside. I believe it is still in it\'s original grey color on the inside as well as the outside. As tight as the lid is, I would assume it is water and air tight, but had no way to actually test it. It measures approximately 15 1/4\" long x 12 3/8\" wide x 14 3/8\" tall at the top measured at the outside of the clamps arms that fit over it. There are certain areas of the clamps that extend beyond these measurements. Without packaging, it weighs approximately 20 3/4 pounds.
