Measuring 6.25\" tall and 4.0\" across the base diameter, thegently bulging, shapely, rounded bulbous formthick pottery sturdyCannister is decorated all around with a graphic and repeatingrows of neatly marching Catseyes in four rowsin black, white, and sienna brown on a pleasingSky Bluebackground and topped with an incised patterngreen colored band separated by twin black thin accent lines, as well as a matching thin black line at bottom. The matching lid hasa solid blue background with coordinating black line and a starburst design of scattered Catsyeyeswith a tactile beehive swirl top green knob. As piece is hand painted, note the occasional uneven black line and color flow.Smooth glazed interior, plain unglazed bottom with incised makers name and holds about3 to4 cups rice, small beans, etc, isfood safe.Feels good in hand easy topick upand presents a fine period correct appearance for Reenactors of the colonial era. If you are an antique mocha ware collector, you can sneak this into your line up and it would be hard to tell the difference between real and this repro, for it is very convincing and realistic! Many of you are aware of Don Carpentier\'s passing in 2014 makingmochaware pottery a good catch at a fraction of the other pieces extant now fetching hundreds of dollar as contemporary reproductions. To be clear, this is NOT a Carpentier piece (which are all marked with his name), my comment herewith was directed that with Don\'s passing, there are very limited alternate resources in which to locate mocha repro ware, and the SJ Pottery cannisterlisted here is equally as nice and serviceable at affordable cost and immediate availability. When one door closes, another must be opened to take its place, and the SJ sold here passes jury acceptance standards for modern reenactors. (There was no intent to mislead or confuse Buyers; some people are not aware of Don\'s death.)
