NOTE TO OUR MOCHA COLLECTOR FANS: This isa different piece than that similar sold last week; this CatsEye Canister is larger, with a more shapely upper and pinched in bottom. Study the nuances, including a tooled band on lid. The girth around widest midsection measures 16\" nice and tubby-chubby plump! You\'ll need both hands to cup and pick this one up when filled.

Measuring 7.0\" tall and 4.25\" across the base diameter, thegently bulging, shapely, rounded bulbousform onupper shoulder with slender pinched in bottom area,thick pottery sturdyCannister is decorated all around with a graphic and repeatingrows of neatly marching Catseyes in four rowsin black, white, and sienna brown on a pleasingSky Bluebackground.The base sportsblack thin accent line on top, as well as a matching thin black line at bottom, with a gentle tooled foot rim base.The matching lid hasa solid blue background with coordinating twin black lines and acircle design ofpatterned Catsyeyeswith a tactile beehive swirl top green knob. A tactile Birds track incised soft green band encircles the lid\'s rim you can feel with your fingers like Braille! As piece is hand painted, note the occasional uneven black line and color flow.Smooth glazed interior, plain unglazed bottom with incised makers name and holds about3 to4 cups rice, small beans, etc, isfood safe.Feels good in hand easy topick upand presents a fine period correct appearance for Reenactors of the colonial era. If you are an antique mocha ware collector, you can sneak this into your line up and it would be hard to tell the difference between real and this repro, for it is very convincing and realistic! Many of you are aware of Don Carpentier\'s passing in 2014 makingmochaware pottery a good catch at a fraction of the other pieces extant now fetching hundreds of dollar as contemporary reproductions. To be clear, this is NOT a Carpentier piece (which are all marked with his name), my comment herewith was directed that with Don\'s passing, there are very limited alternate resources in which to locate mocha repro ware, and the SJ Pottery cannisterlisted here is equally as nice and serviceable at affordable cost and immediate availability. When one door closes, another must be opened to take its place, and the SJ sold here passes jury acceptance standards for modern reenactors. (There was no intent to mislead or confuse Buyers; some people are not aware of Don\'s death.)
