MONUMENTAL ANTIQUE PERSIAN KASHAN CARPET_11.7 x 16.7 A BEAUTY FROM MUSEUM SALE Bought this from Schrewsbury Museum close down sale in southernIndiana.This is a wonderful size and hard to come by in an antique Persian rug. ThisKashan is very finely woven and will last another 50 or more years. The fine manchesterwool is fine, soft and flexible.The rug is not perfect, but a reflection of age. This piece does show wear in the field and is worn to the knots or close the knots in areas. the wear patterns are seen in the photos (usually look lighter than the rest of the rug in the photos). Wear seems to be walking or traffic patterns. The ends are good and the sides look ok withsome selvedge wear.The rug has nostains, no odors and no dry rot. The size is 11.7 x 16.7.A very fine size for that huge Victorian parlor room.
