This is Albert Pikes' 861 page volume (and exhaustive 218 page index) on the esoteric roots of Freemasonry, specifically the 32-degree Scottish Rite. Until 1969, this book was given to every Mason completing the 14th degree in the Southern jurisdiction of the U.S. Scottish Rite Freemasons.

Only Pike could compile, digest, and put to pen this store of esoteric treasures, and it is all here: The worlds Mystery religions – and their relations to one another, the Kabalah, every god and goddess, and mans worship of them down through the ages.

No internal markings of any kind!

This is a 1969 printing of the original 1871 edition. Don’t be misled into believing that later versions have different/less secret information than earlier editions. The book my father received upon completion of the 32nd is identical to mine – which I had to purchase on my own since I completed the degrees "post 1969".

Tight,solid binding. Sharp corners. Gilt titles with Double Eagle on spine and House of the Temple on front board. Embossed House of the Temple on rear board. Originalmaroon cloth covered boards with consistent color - no fading. Lodge name/date stamp inside cover - otherwise text block clear and bright with no internal markings. A very nice find in this condition, and an essential addition to your Masonic library.
