MOVIE PROPHOLLYWOOD REGENCY GLAM ORIGINAL VINTAGE RETRO 1960s RED BUTTON TUFTED HEART SHAPE SHAPED BED AND MATTRESS...First of all, this type bed, especially an original, is very difficult to find. This is in fact an original first purchased in the 1960s era (possibly very early 70s, but I was informed 1960s). Anyway, all I have to say is AMAZING! The heart shaped headboard is stunning! Measures approx 82" wide and is 51" tall. It is curved as welland I tried to photograph that design as well. It is red and button tufted (no missing buttons at all). No rips, no stains, no tears, no nasty odors and the color is NOT faded and NOT discolored (it was difficult to capture the beautiful red color it truly is). As for the mattress, it is two parts that fit together to form the heart. The two pieces together measure approx 81" long (from headboard to end of mattress...the point of the heart) and both together are 82" wide. Each is7 inches thick. It is very firm foam. Both portions have a solid wood bottom. The original fabric on the mattress has some worn areas here and there as shown in the pictures. They could easily be corrected and doesnt take away from the beauty of this piece. I was going to make a platform to place the mattress on (which is probably how the mattress parts were designed to rest). It has no rails (I dont think it is desgned to even have rails)and no platform. That would be a simple project to do. The headboard and the two mattress portions all have the original attached company tags. The tags read in part: 100% Polyarethane Foam....Reg. No. OKLA. 124...Made by OKLA. Furn. MFG. Co. Guthrie, Okla, 73044. So, apparently made in Oklahoma. I was informed that this came from an original owner who lived in California. I believe these type bedsthat were designedback then were used as movie props, photography props or owned by the wealthy of the time. Usually specially ordered. I was going touse this in my home, however, finding a place for this to fit properly, is difficult for me. I prefer pickup on this item...just would be very difficult to ship. HOWEVER, if you do need this to be shipped, please realize that I cannot pack this...which means, no Greyhound shipments. I cannot pack this! What I can do is possibly take it to my UPS store and have them pack it and ship it (which would possibly be freight thru them). You, of course, would be charged whatever fees they charge me plus the shipping cost. You can also arrange a freight company to come to my house and pick it up. TSC moving company has great rates.I would suggest emailing me first if you are needing some type of rates for shipping cost, etc. I will work with you the best I can. NO shipping to Alaska nor Hawaii. I will require insurance on this item and a signature upon delivery. Feel free to email me any questions at all. I will work with you the best way I can. If you need some time to schedule or work out the shipping arrangement, that is perfectly ok. I have it stored inside my home. Once again, what an amazing and so hard to find item!!! I received an estimate on shipping from TSC Moving...shipping to California would be around $640 (west coast)....and shipping to Virginia (east coast area) would be around $440. Those are good estimates and contact TSC moving to get an exact cost to your location and to make sure they service your area.
