MUSEUM QUALITY Vintage PRE CIVIL WAR Crown of Thorns Antique Quilt ~GREAT BORDER!

This OUTSTANDING cotton Pre-Civil War crown of thorns quilt is hand pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted, with amazing early fabrics dating from 1830-1855 and a wonderful vine border on three sides. The quilt came out of Victor (Ontario County), New York.

It measures a generous 84\" X 106\" and is in excellent, unwashed condition, with the occasional age spot (most visible on the back) and no wear. /font>

There is quilting around the piecework and applique and in straight line and ripple designs in the background, all at 7 stitches to the inch.

The back and hand stitched, rolled binding are white, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue when you hold the quilt up to the light.
