Mack Sennett- Pair of RARE Two Very Important Contracts Signed:
$4125.00

Two important signed contracts documenting a historic event in early Hollywood: the sale of Sennett\'s stock in the Keystone Film Company to the Triangle Film Corporation. The first, dated June 25th 1917, enumerates Sennett\'s stake in the transaction, including all of his capital stock (100 shares) in the New York Motion Picture Corporation; 65,000 shares of his stock in the Triangle Film Corporation; 43% of the outstanding capital stock of the Keystone film company; 10 shares of his capital stock in the Erness Film Company; and 50% of his interest in the Mabel Normand film Mickey. In exchange for the sale of these stocks, the Triangle Film Corporation agrees to pay Sennett $200,000. The document is boldly signed by Sennett and H.E. Aitken, President of Triangle Film Corporation, New York Picture Corporation, and Keystone Film Company. The second document comprises Sennett\'s agreement with Paramount Pictures Corporation (dated June 29, 1916) and a memorandum amending the previous agreement (dated July 5, 1917). This document has likewise been signed by both Sennett and Aitken. Sennett sold his interest in Keystone Studios, which had been backed by financing from the New York Film company and others, in order to create his own company, Mack Sennett Comedies Corporation. During this new phase of his career, he enjoyed a string of successes showcasing some of his earlier stars, including Mabel Normand and featuring such rising talents as Ben Turpin. Enjoying only limited success with the advent of the Sound Era, Sennett effectively retired from the motion picture business at the age of 55. Included with above documents are 51 typed pages, with inked notes and changes, from Sennett\'s attorney, Arthur Butler Graham, including extra copies of the deed, a lease from Keystone Film company to Mack Sennett, and a bill of sale from Erness Film Company to Keystone. In very good to fine condition overall, with scattered handling wear. These contracts originally sold 20 years ago for much more money Comes with an original COA from Todd Mueller Autographs.
