For your consideration is a stunning and rare hand painted portrait on porcelain signed by a famous listed artist Wagner. As one can clearly see it is a magnificent portrait of a young lady finely painted in exquisite detail giving it an almost life like appearance. It is signed on the lower left Wagner. It comes framed in what may be a brass or some type of alloy. When we separated the porcelain from the frame we were stunned by an original paper stamp still attached on the back with clear letters. It is also impressed with the letters HR within a circle initially giving us the impression of Hutschenreuther or possibly Freising. What puzzles us it that there is also a clear impression just to the left of the HR within the circle that appears to be a very small \"B\" or character within an \"M\". If any fellow er can clearly identify the mark we would certainly welcome the information. That said we can identify the piece as German which may date to sometime late 19c to early 20c. The area surrounding the piece that was in contact with frame has a slightly different shade from time within the frame that we feel can be cleaned or polished out. It has little to no wear throughout as it was carefully cabinet kept one tiny fleabite to the rim that I have photographed. It does not detract and his hidden by the frame. I mention only for accuracy. These detailed descriptions certainly do not detract from the general aesthetics of the piece and are only mentioned for accuracy. One may say it has weathered the many years extremely well and is in amazingly very good condition for its age. The porcelain measures approximately 5 inches longest point top to bottom x 3 7/8 inches widest point across.
This is a rare and or distinctive piece so we will use an abnormally larger box to further insure it arrives safely so shipping may be higher than normal. We will not take any chances with this piece and will do what we can to maximize its safe arrival! We will combine shipping for multiple purchases only if we feel it is safe. Please wait for an invoice for combined shipping on multiple purchases before paying. If payment is made before receiving an invoice we will send a revised invoice with the accurate and updated shipping price. Shipping will be UPS Ground and a signature will be required for purchases over $100.00. An adult signature will be required for purchases over $1000.00.
We will not compromise the safety of breakable items by using an inappropriate size box in order to save on shipping. If you feel that shipping is too high please feel free to contact us so that we may find a more economical shipping option for you. The postal carriers mandate at least 4-5 inches of padding between the piece and/ or the walls of the box in order to insure items from damage. The shipping calculator is not consistently accurate.
For international buyers we will only ship to your country if we can insure the item or items for the full purchase amount. Due to the nature of the item it will ship via Priority Mail Express as this service offers insurance and tracking which we mandate for international shipping.
