Up for your consideration is this rare Magnificent Antique German Westerwald 19th Century Stoneware Ewer/Jug it is in good overall condition but it does have some minor hairline surface cracks around the inner ring. The ewer is water tight the cracks do not penetrate. I date this piece to the 19th century .
It stands 14.5 inches high by 7.25 inches wide by 3 inches deep, the diameter of the base is 4.75 inches. There is a lot of intricate detail and it has a face with a nose ring decorating the exterior of the mouth of the ewer along with the doughnut hole center, this a most atypical and unusual piece. If you collect Westerwald you definitely would want to add it to your collection. It has no makers mark but does have the impressed number 167. A very iconic piece. Make it yours before someone else does.....
