Up for sale is my main stage guitar, a Martin D-35 Johnny Cash. I bought this guitar new from the Music Emporium a little more than a year ago for around $4000 and it\'s been everywhere with me. I\'ve played it on stage, recorded with it, it\'s been strummed by Willie Nelson (at Indian Ranch in Webster, MA), Jamey Johnson (at Hampton Beach in NH), and Ryan Adams (in Burlington, VT) among others. I\'ve played it here in Boston, all up and down the East Coast, and down on Music Row in Nashville while recording my new album.
I\'m selling his guitar because I need to pay some bills before I start performing this summer with my band and this is the most expensive guitar I own.The guitar has been well maintained by Jim and John Mouridian over the past year but it does have plenty of surface scratches and a couple nicks. Nothing affects the playability or actualphysicalwell-being of the guitar. I tried taking as many photos as possible but only allows 12. The only thing that I couldn\'t capture is that the neck has two really small nicks from my wedding ring. Those can be filled in if need be, it honestly isn\'t something that I\'ve ever heard anyone comment on as being noticeable. Everything could be made to look new again if I wanted to spend the money, but frankly I like when a guitar starts to show that it\'s been used.
Changes to the guitar include the addition of Waverly tuners, the LR Baggs Anthem Tru-Mic system ($300), and I\'ve thrown in some extras (capo, Elixer strings, humidifier system, etc) as a thank you.It comes with a Martin J. Cash case in near mint condition,but the Martin tag has been customized with my name. You can easily find another tag on or through Martin if you want to swap it out.This is an amazing guitar, the session guys I played with in Nashville wanted to buy it from me for close to original sale price and I should have agreed at the time. They played it a lot with open tuning and it sounds LUSH. You will not be disappointed and this is by far the best price you\'ll find on this guitar online.
