This work is excellent reference for archaic Greek coins that are rarely encountered. "Asyut" hord was found in Egypt in 1969 and it was the largest hoard of archaic Greek coins found up to that time. Hoard content were 900 mostly Mainland Greek silver coins that were dispersed in trade (and are being offered for sale from time to time). Authors describe and illustrate 873 pieces they were able to associate with this find. The scholarship (dating, mint commentaries for each city etc.) utilized in the catalogue is outstanding.
