A interesting fact about the members of the team in Marvel\'s Mega Blockbuster \"Guardians of the Galaxy\" film is the fact that at one point or another all five members of the group (Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon) had to wait over a decade between comic book appearances. In other words, the entire team had a long road to travel to get to the point of starring in their own feature film. None of the others, though, had quite as strange of a journey as Rocket Raccoon, who began his fictional life as a one-off joke character seemingly destined to be lost to history. Instead, nearly forty years after his debut he is now a featured character in a major motion picture. In fact Rocket only appeared in a total of ten comic books in his first thirty years of existence.

And although Incredible Hulk #271 has the 1st Appearance of Rocket Raccoon as Rocket Raccoon; The Marvel Preview Magazine #7 has the 1st ever appearance of Rocket Raccoon (Summer 1976), referred to as only as ROCKY; and is almost 6 years before Hulk #271 (May 1982)!

Rocket Raccoon even has a Beatles tie in! This name \"Rocky\" is a direct reference to the song off of the Beatles\' \"White Album\" titled \"Rocky Raccoon.\" Hulk #271\'s story title, \"Now Somewhere In the Black Holes of Sirius Major There Lived a Young Boy Name of Rocket Raccoon!\" is also a reference to the Beatles song, \"Rocky Raccoon\"; the song opens with \"Now somewhere in the black mountain hills of Dakota, there lived a young boy named Rocky Raccoon\". Also, Rocky\'s friend in Hulk #271 is Wal Russ, another Beatles reference, this time, to the song \"I Am the Walrus\". But WAIT . . . There\'s More! COMIC PACKAGING:All comics are Bagged & Boarded, then wrapped it packing paper and finally sandwiched between too pieces of cardboard. I use enough tape to keep the comics safe, but not so much tape that you have to cut the comics from a tape entombment! I cannot control the Post Office, but unless the package is run over or dropped from the Empire State Building, it will arrive in the same condition you bought it in.
