You are looking at one of the famous 1910 Dutton Press prints from the Hawthorne book Tanglewood Tales and The Wonderbook. Parrish did the illustrations fo rthe book and these have become the best of the prints of the period--The redo of the book in 1914,1923,1929,1935 might have had the same prints but they had been copied so much they lost their crispness and original color even. that is why these 1909 prints have some value and are appreciating. (Just so you know--I do not \"clip\" books that are in good shape--only ones that are decrepid but the prints are wonderful and otherwise would be lost to the world.) If you look on line--you can find the good books--but check the prices $250-$1000...so we are not cutting not buying them.

Now this print is of Pandora--who opened the box that brought all the evils and disasters sof the wo r ld even though she had been given directions to never never open it...BUT she did....bummer.

The print is in excellent shape and from the 1909 book--some foxing on the margins but not on the print itself...once framed and matted they willdtotally disappear..
