All sell !ITEM: You are offerding on a vintage & original 1930s fine art lithograph printed on pebbled, textured paper stock and that comes from the Thomas D. Murphy Calendar Company of Red Oak, Iowa. A sensational lithograph by Maxfield Parrish featuring a pair of ethereal nymphs in a glowing autumn landscape scene titled \"Only God Can Make A Tree.\" This print was originally offered under the title \"Golden Hours\" but was retitled by Thomas D. Murphy when they purchased the right to reproduce this image from Maxfield Parrish.Measures 10 1/2\" x 14 1/4\"For those of you keeping track we acquired a storeroom full of these original archived Thomas D. Murphy Calendar Company inventory calendar prints (mostly their pin-up images) several years ago, the prints are fantastic and period old original sample lithographs that were kept in flat files in the Iowa warehouse and acquired directly from their vaults. The Calendar Company struck a deal with House of Art and Brown & Bigelow to re-license some of the artist\'s (Maxfield Parrish) images in the late 1930s and early 40s. The print quality is spectacular and the print quantities were minimal making this quite rare and lovely and desirable. The Thomas D Murphy company was renowned for its revolutionary and high end printmaking processes and its low pulp content textured paper, which has aged incredibly well, and as such keeps this print looking incredibly vibrant and striking.CONDITION:Very fine condition with the most minor edge wear.
