This is a memo to Glenn Branca signed by John Cage with a short note by Cage 1989. I\'ve also included the original letter that I received asking if I would submit a loop for use in John\'s piece the \"Rozart Mix\". I felt that this would add a context for the memo. The letter also contains Cage\'s original instructions for the \"Rozart Mix\". The piece that I submitted was a cut up of Cage\'s interview mentioned below.Also included in this offering is a CD (signed by myself) with one of the interviews Cage did at \"New Music America\" in Chicago 1982. This interview by composer and writer Wim Mertens was originally released on a cassette by Crepuscule records. The interview is a discussion of my piece \"Indeterminate Activity Of Resultant Masses\" which is the piece Cage saw at the Festival. The interview is almost 19 minutes long. The CD also includes a recording of the piece that Cage is commenting on.On the inner sleeve of the CD is a letter originally published in Musicworks magazine in which the writer attacks me for my description of the Cage incident in an interview in a previous issue of the mag. My response to this letter follows in the sleeve and is the only detailed written commentary I have ever made about the incident. This was also published in Musicworks 1997.Although Cage and I never met more than to say hello on the street there was never any real animosity on either side.
All of these items are in good condition. The CD is mint with a small \"not for sale\" cutout at the bottom of the back sleeve.
