The book measures 7 3/4\" x 5 1/2\" and contains 372 unmarked pages. It is tightly bound with no loose or missing pages and clean contents and minimal wear to covers and backstrip. Front and back hinges are cracked but the text block is still firmly attached to the covers. A very nice copy of this book. There is a faded gift inscription on the front endpaper dated Dec. 1859. Not ex library. Please examine the photographs.
Captain Maximilian Montague Hammond (1824-1855) was killed in the attack on the Redan at Sebastopol in the Crimean War. Prior to his service in the Crimean war he was stationed in Canada. His life was clearly marked by a very strong Christian witness.
