Offered is a menu for the officers and crew of the U.S.S. Arizona dated July 4, 1936. It measures 5 x 8, four pages printed on heavy stock, and is in good condition but for glue stains on the blank verso of the last page. SEE SCANS. The CO was Captain George A. Alexander and the Executive Officer was Commander M.S. Bennion. Alexander (1884-1969) was the 35th Naval Governor of Guam from 1933 to 1936, and then went on to command the Arizona for a short period. Bennion was promoted, assumed command of the battleship West Virginia, and was killed in action on December 7th. He was also the posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor. A poignant reminder of what must have been a happy occasion on an ill-fated ship. Payment via Paypal, though other forms of payment are usually accepted.
