. Eaters of the Dead, the early novel written by Michael Crichton. True first printing: stated first edition hardback with unclipped dust jacket ($6.95) and no pug at base of rear board. Book Club Edition was issued with exact same binding and statement of first edition, but it lacked a price on the dust jacket and placed a pug at the base of the rear board. Paper-covered boards and cloth spine. Gilding to front board and spine. Red top text block edge stain. Not ex-library. Very good condition a little foxing to text block edge and mild lifting to front board. Interior writing-free. DJ remains in very good condition with edge wear that includes nicking and some fluting. Light sunning to red lettering on spine.
