Up for saleis my entire collection of Mickey Mouse Lusterware Tea Sets. I have over 31 different sets to sell. Most of them with boxes. My wife was writing a book onthem but passed away before it was finished. There were 36 sets in all over the14 years they came out. This was one of the first ones. The tea pot is tall and square, Plate size is 3 7/16. One of the hard ones to find in a box. Box is in good shape still has part of the label Mickey and Minnie Mouse. One plate has a very little chip, but the set is inexcellent shape.I know I am asking a little high but make me an offer...

Below is a small part of what she had written.

In 1929Mickey Mouse was born, The Geo Borgfeldt Corp signed with Disney to distribute differentitems with Disney character on them, paying Walt $300 for that privilege. A fewyears they started selling Lusterware Tea sets. First was a set with Mickey’shead as the top to the tea pot and creamer. Then came the set with Mickey andMinnie on it called “The Little Hostess Set.” In 1933 he started selling the lusterwaresets we have today. They came different ways, with every couple of years beingdifferent. They sold for over 13 years. They were sold thru catalogs and many 5& 10 cent drug stores. They sold for about $.75 up to $1.25. All sets came in a display box with straw. Youcan tell the different years of the sets by the Tea pots. The factory in Japanwas known with the Green M on their good set they sold on the market. But Disneydidn’t not want any reference to the factory that made them on the sets.

The firstsets came out in 1932, the tea pots were round. These came in sets of 4 and 6cups sets with saucers and Plates. Plate sizes were 3 7/8” round. Colors wereWhite and Gold, White and Gold with a black line, Blue and White, Blue Whitewith a black line.

Colorswere White and Gold, White and Gold with a black line, Blue and White, BlueWhite with a black line. This year they added a gold and blue set and Gold andblue with a black line. This year they also came out with Wall flower hangers. The factory that made these set had a falling out with owners and split intotwo companies that fought over the rights to make the tea sets. That is why youwill find colors to differ between sets.

The thirdset the tea pot was hexagon. This was all the same as the second set but againthey added 2 more sizes, were plates are 4 ½ and another set were the plateswere 5 ¼ with the same colors. This year they added the serving plate. Veryrare to find a full set.
