1 6 \" T A L L The designers at the Laurel Lamp company loved mathematics.
All their designs feature math in their composition and structure.
The \'golden mean\' an ancient formula that predates the Parthenon
was regularly employed to calculate arcs, sweeps and curves,
giving a real scientific backing to the stunning beauty of a Laurel lamp! This striking desk lamp dates to 1960 and was when Laurel
started shifting their attention to Italian design. Throughout the
fifties they had mostly focused on Danish Modern styles
which focused on teaks and linens. In the late fifties
they approached Italian design legends like Gio Ponti
to pen lamps for their company.The lamp uses a single socket and an
adjustable shade to position the reflected light.The lines are fluid and graceful from the base to the tip.
Lamp has a push button switch on the base to turn on/off.
Works perfectly. Uses one small standard base bulb.
Some minor wear and scratching to the brushed brass finish.
