Both books are octavos with burgundy cloth covers with gilt lettering on front and spine, dust jackets, 182 and 223 pages. Rabbi Ovadia of Bartinura (c. 1440- c. 1516), known as the best commentator on the Mishnah, as well as for revitalizing the Jewish community of Jerusalem an important medieval commentator who moved to the land of Israel in 1488 and rejuvenated the Jewish community of Jerusalem.


Condition: Good/Good—. Bindings tight, gilt bright. The first volume has notations on the pastedown and on many pages in the book, mostly in pencil and in the margins. The second volume has no notations. Minor bumping to corners and spine ends. The dust jackets are very rubbed with shallow raggedness at the edges, and wear at the fold overs. They also have minor to moderate wrinkling.
