Sigfrido (SIGI)Pineda, theinternationally renowned Mexican modernist, may be one of the last great historic artisansremaining in Taxco, Mexico. Technically superior, innovative and dynamic,Sigi’s work features great design, flow and very creative use of dimension. Choosing silver as his primarymedium for expression, Sigi’s creations disallow a distinction between art anddesign. His designs are closer tothe era\'s international trends (e.g. Jensen, Miro, Arp, etc.) than the work of hiscontemporaries in Taxco and appear as fresh today as they were fifty years ago.
