DESCRIPTION
Antique late 19th/early 20th century hat pin. This features the most unusual peacock eye I have ever seen. It is a chunky inverted conical shape. The top surface shows the intense cobalt blue eye. The tapering sides show swirls of slightly different greens. This is attached to a metal stem and there is a gold tone bead accent--please note this looks like somebody added it later to “enhance” it. I think originally it was just the peacock eye on the stem. You can see a bit of glue under the bead. I would probably restore this to just the peacock eye and the stem. Regardless, it is a truly fabulous example.
The peacock eye glass is livelier in person, the flash has reduced some of its vibrance.

Excellent. The glass is undamaged. The stem has some wear and light corrosion. As noted above, the bead might be a later addition.
