Up for sale is this vintage metal gold-tone Elgin American compact. The compact measures about 2 3/4\" square. The lid is decorated with squares of mother of pearl with a raised group of light blue rhinestones in a diamond shape on top. The compact opens and has two powder puffs. One is sitting on top of the inner compartment door. When the door is opened there is a second powder puff sitting in the compartment, which is framed with a velour like piece along the sides. Both puffs and the door to the inner compartment are marked with the Elgin American name. The mirror is in good condition but photographed very badly. It is not dark like it appears in the photos. I could not get a good shot of it without light glares or items showing up in the mirror. This compact is a USED estate item in pretty good condition considering its age and use. The back side of the compact does have a few scuff/wear marks. All of the compact closures are in good working order.
