Murano White Gold Clam Shell Italian Art Glass Ashtray

We are pleased to offer this lovely heavy Art Glass ashtray - manufacturer unknown to us - most likely Murano Venetian or Italian art glass. Smoker\'s accessories, especially ashtrays of various sorts, were an integral part of glass companies\' production for some time, especially in the 1940s-1960s when cigarettes were more socially acceptable than they are today.

This gorgeous ashtray is has shimmering gold spots encased in clear glass with a milk white bottom. The glass is bent on the four sides to form handles. It measures 6-1/2\" in diameter and stands 3 1/2\" tall. It has four recessed cigarette rests/slots on the exterior edge of the bowl. It has one little spot where the gold color strayed (shown in the photo); otherwise it is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips or cracks. You do not have to be a smoker to appreciate the beauty of this glass - could always use as a candy dish. Just a lovely piece of vintage Art Glass that you are sure to want to add to your collection.
