MUSEUM MODEL SHIP U-BOAT PROPERTY OF THE LATE CAPTAIN HERBERT WERNER:
$5000.00

This is a very rare museum piece of a beautifully detailed model (54\" long) in a custom plexiglass covered case. This model was given to the late Captain Herbert Werner. It was presented to him at a reunion of former German members of the U-Boat arm of the German navy. There are 2 brass plaques on it; 1 in German and 1 in English denoting all the U-Boats and years that Captain Werner served on them.
Captain Werner was only one of 20 U-Boat commanders to have survived the entire war. (WWII) After the war Captain Werner wrote a book detailing his experiences aboard the German U-Boats (Iron Coffins by Herbert Werner). Later Captain Werner immigrated to the U.S. and later retired to Florida where he resided until his passing in Vero Beach Florida. I bought this model directly from his estate and I have had it for several years thereof.
This model is a beautiful professionally built and 1 of a kind example of a type 7C U-Boat. I am including with the model a soft covered book entitled World War II Album Volume 27, A U-Boats Captains Personal Photographs by Herbert Werner.
Buyer must either pick up or make arraignments for this model to be successfully transported. We hope that a serious collector or a museum takes advantage of this rare 1 of a kind object.
