EXQUISITE~ This is one BEAUTIFUL Museum quality Antique gentlemen\'s embroidered braided velvet court coat dates approximately from the late 18th to 19th century. It is hand stitched, made of a jet black velvet fabric, adorned with black braided trim (the photos make the trim look more gray than black), 3 braided loop closures (some minor wear, the buttons are missing). The fabulous French court dress coat has a long tails split skirt back, interior split breast pocket, long full sleeves with rolled cuffs and is fully lined in off white silk fabric.

Measures roughly 18 inches from arm pit to arm pit flat across, the length is 36.5 inches shoulder to hem, the sleeves measures 23 inches, the waist is 17.5 inches flat across.

Please note these measurements are taken on the outside of the garment. It is always best to compare to a garment you own that fits you.

This piece is in overall EXCELLENT condition, no holes, spots or stains. There is some minor wear along the edge of the sleeves and along the coat opening, there is some minor shattering of the silk lining along the back collar and on the interior of the arm pit area, and the base of the sleeve (as shown). It is excellent wearable displayable condition.
This lovely gem recently came from a very fine estate of Prominent Minneapolis family of great wealth along with some other very old antique trims, fabrics and clothing.
