You can actually run your finger inside and feel the backs of the eyes, nose and mouth and it is boot laced inside and out like an actual Shrunken Head !

\"To tell authentic tsantsas, experts look for signs that the work was done by someone other than a Jivaro.

The Jivaro used heavy cotton string to sew the mouth and back of the neck closed, nothing else.

On a true Jivaro shrunken head the lips also bear the marks of the chonta wooden pins used to seal the mouth during the preparation process along with balsa wood ash being rubbed onto the skin and the eyes and mouth were sewn shut from the back.

This was all done to keep the spirit inside.
