NEAT late 1800s/early 1900s JAPANESE MEIJI CLOISONNE PLATE

Presented is a fabulous Japanese cloisonne charger. This piece dates to the Meiji period, around the late 1800s or early 1900s. The background of the dish is burnt orange with a darker orange design of stylized clouds interspersed with colorful flowers. The middle of the charger has a bird silhouette with butterflies, leaves and red flowers against black. Above this is a fan shape with a bird in flight and a flowering branch against sky blue. The back of the charger has a wire spiral pattern against light blue. The work is all very well done, and this is an attractive and eye-catching piece, which would look great in a cabinet or hung on a wall.

This piece is in great condition. The wire and enamel are all intact. There are no breaks and no repairs.

The charger is approximately 12 inches in diameter.
