BRONZE CHENETS /ANDIRONS NEO CLASSICAL MAGNIFICENT , MYTHOLOGICAL, 19TH C.:
$4500.00

Magnificent rare pair of large bronze statuesquevictorian gothic style andirons that can be converted to candle sticks as seen in the photo,19th century European.

These andirons are NOT reproductions

They are very ornate and decorative. They have finely detailed reliefwork and designs through out depicting mythological creatures, nude maidens, monkeys, sphinxes, clouds and leaf finials. Each andiron is casted in 5separate sections. On the back portion of the base of each andiron there is asquare cut out they were used for long log iron supports to hold logs. Theywere not used for that purpose when I acquired them. They instead used an ironcreate that sat inside the fireplace. These andirons are for a large fire placehearth. The center rod that holds the sections was replaced with a stronger 3/8metal threaded rod. The original rod was flimsy and much thinner did not supplyenough support. These andirons also can easily be converted in to MAGNIFICENT candle holders by removing thefinials and in place put a 3/8 washer and nut in its place. As seen in photosThe size of each andiron is approx.
41 inches tall,
15 inches wide
15 inches deep
The triangular bases are supported by 3 solid bronze balls each
The weight of each andiron is approx. 60 pounds each. The condition is excellent. The patanation is original and even through out.
These andirons are not reproductionI assure you can offer with confidence! Any questions. Please do not hesitate to contact me prior to placing a offer. Please check out my other items, I am always adding new listings they may be ofinterest to you. Sincerely
