This is an old Navajo necklace made of sterling silver components, finely cut heishi, and freeform turquoise nuggets with an abundance of black matrix.I do not have an educated guess about the origin of this turquoise so I won\'t speculate.The heishi is about 1.5mm and has varying shades of brown. The turquoise is a deep teal color with A LOT of matrix.It graduates subtly from about 12mm at the center to about 7mm at the perimeters. The necklace measures 26\" and ends with melon beads, bench beads, and a super heavy duty clasp. It weighs a substantial 43 grams. The turquoise on this piece is very high grade and there is A LOT of it. This necklace will never lose its relevance. Please contact me with any questions and thanks for looking!
