Description: Unusual novelty antique solid sterling silver postal scales.Rather interesting small postage scale crafted in solid sterling silver. With beautiful detail. Tray is removable and part hallmarked. There is a calibration thumb screw on the top. However, this may need calibration from the inside. The scale on the label is rubbed. Has a registered design number.Please refer to condition report below.Maker: Levi & Salaman, Birmingham.Hallmarks: L&S, Birmingham Assay Office mark, Year letter y and Sterling silver lion passant. Tray is part marked. There is a registered design number stamped next to hallmark.Year: Circa 1898.Approximate weight: Total weight;157grams total including mechanism inside which is not silver.Approximate measurements: Length 8 cmbase and Width 5.2 cm base and height 7.6 cm.Condition: Appears in good condition with some small dents to the base and very fine scratches.
