RARE ANGAMA NAGA BODY CLOTH

These body cloths rarely come onto the market completely clean, the white background usually stained.

This cloth is of heavy white cotton, four narrow strips being hand-sewn together. The two side strips have stripes of black and red and the central strips are adorned with exquisite medallions which appear to be of supplementary weft with some added embroidery. Every one of these is different even if the variation is often slight.
The body cloth measures approximaely 73 inches (187cm) long before fringing and 37.50 inches (95cm) wide.
The back of the cloth has quite a bit of blotchy staining which would not show in use or display. The front has one bad area at one end and also splashes here and there on the main part of the cloth.

However, it is still a treasure!
