From 1932 to 1946, Nancy Drew books featured blue boards withorange silhouettes, and orange silhouettes on the endpapers. This dates the printingof the volumes in this collection to that period. Titles with the frontillustration printed on glossy paper were printed no later than 1941, becausethe publisher changed the format that year to save money. Fourteen of thesebooks date to that period.

Each book contains 25 chapters and orange stained top edges. Mosthave advertising after the end of the text, with a list of available Nancy Drewtitles, as noted below.

No dust jackets. Condition ranges from acceptable to good –notable flaws identified with each title below. Pages clean though tanned,bindings square and tight. Corners bumped, some wear on the bottom edges. Otherflaws present, not readily apparent, not noted because the seller overlookedthem. Please see photos.

2. THE HIDDEN STAIRCASE, 1930 - last title advertised “TheMystery of the Brass Bound Trunk” - front illustration printed on glossy paper.Rear hinge very weak, rear endpapers split, name penciled on front freeendpaper, spine mildly cocked, back board scuffed.

4. THE MYSTERY AT LILAC INN, 1930 - last book advertised “The Secretat the Gatehouse” - front illustration printed on glossy paper. Two inch waterdamage on bottom corner of back board, half inch water mark on bottom of edge,no water damage apparent on interior of book and no musty smell.

5. THE SECRET AT SHADOW RANCH, 1931 - last book advertised “TheMystery at the Moss Covered Mansion” - front illustration printed on glossypaper. Spin faded and foxed, crayon scribbles on endpapers inside front andback covers, and the outside back cover.

6. THE SECRET OF RED GATE FARM, 1931 - last title advertised“The Mystery of the Brass Bound Trunk” - front illustration printed on glossypaper. Spine and back board foxed, chocolate droplet stain on pages 12-13.

7. THE CLUE IN THE DIARY, 1932 - last book advertised “TheMystery at the Moss Covered Mansion” - front illustration printed on glossypaper. Rear hinge very weak, rear endpapers split, chocolate covered fingerstains on page 196-197.

8. NANCY\'S MYSTERIOUS LETTER, 1932 - last title advertised “TheMystery of the Brass Bound Trunk” - front illustration printed on glossy paper.Wear at top of the spine. Closed tears top of page 1 and top and bottom edgesof page 137.

9. THE SIGN OF THE TWISTED CANDLES, 1933 - last title advertised“The Mystery of the Brass Bound Trunk” - front illustration printed on glossypaper. Front hinge starting to split, spine faded and cocked.
