Cheng Chao is the promising young panda coin designer in China who design 2010, 2012, 2013, 2017 and 2018 panda coin (Fiat legal tender). He is the only one 5 years panda coin designer in China since commencement of china panda coin from 1982 till 2018. He is the designer of this temple of Heaven panda medal (non fiat) too. Just a coincident, this panda medal which planned by us 5 months ago by numerous testing of technology and changing of design which is resembles the 2017 panda coin which the sitting panda of the medal is resemble the 2017 panda coin (the different is the sitting position and hand holding bamboo). Temple of Heaven is selected to resemble and link to the medal to the bullion panda coin. This is a perfect match of fiat (coin) and non fiat (medal) of the china Mint history.

Special coining technology applies to the panda background so not to expect the smoothing effect like mirror coin. It took many times of coin striking and at least 6 sets of dies to make this panda medal (non fiat). The processes of making High relief medal is not easy as coin. High relief with big mirror surface is another challenge in the technology.

Normal low relief coin and medal took 1-2 weeks to mint. This medal took 4 weeks in minting.
