Native American 7.5\" SEEWOO SOOT Kachina Doll Hand Carved - Hopi Carver Sam Tewa

For your consideration is this wonderful rendition of the Seewoo Soot Kachina doll by Hopi master carver Sam Tewa. Sam has been carving for over 15 years and always produces high quality kachina dolls.

This gorgeous kachina doll was hand carved out of top grade cottonwood and hand painted with dyes made from natural materials off the reservation. He is painted all black, like he is covered in soot, with red paddle ears and a striped mask. His loin cloth is accented with rain clouds in the front and a flower in back. He also wears a black neck ruff. The base is carved to resemble a pile of rocks and earth. Measures approx 7 1/2\" tall x 5 1/4\" wide. Labeled and signed by the Hopi master carver. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

(We had done our due diligence but unfortunately was not able to find any information on the Seewoo Soot Kachina doll and what its function is. If anyone knows, we would love to be educated on its symbolism!)
