Chip Inlay of turquoise & red coral

“SHADOWBOX” means two layers of silver. A top piece is soldered to the bottom piece with space in between. The chip inlay and stampings are applied to top layer and the cabs are bezel set to the bottom layer.

3 Cabs, flat bezel set with one turquoise cab centered between two deep red coral cabs. Appears as if repairs to 2 of the 3 cabs were done years ago, as the silver cut edges are marked substantially from pliers or ?

All inlay is intact with a large feathered headdress, an ornate arrow and a longer curved arrow. There are bear paw stampings amidst others.

SCRAP/REPAIR/CRAFTS- The tongue is missing on this buckle. Was probably copper to begin with as sterling could be to soft. Was not uncommon to use copper components on old conchos for belts or buttons, since silver was more costly and sometimes to soft for application used by artist. Very nifty old piece reflecting Native American symbols and different styles or techniques in one piece.
