A single, elongated diamond shaped stone of light blue turquoise rests at the center of the body of this beautiful maiden ring by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration. The stone, which contains portions of white matrix running throughout, as well as flecks of brown matrix,is set in a simple sterling silver bezel and surrounded at the base by a sterling silver rope pattern. The body of the maiden is finished with a sterling band that is stamped and cut out to form various patterns, as well as appliqued with two rows of sterling silver dots. Protruding from the top of the stone is a detailed sterling silver maiden head, with stamped vertical lines along the forehead representing hair, as well as deeply grooved rectangular eyes and a round, appliqued mouth. The head is finished with a sterling silver bun on each side, also stamped with lines to represent hair. Stone and silverwork are set on a split shank that mergesone quarter of the way toward the back, and is also stamped with vertical lines. 2\" long x 5/8\" wide. Fits ring size 7 1/2.
